AlterHéros
Project Description
Common platform for all LGBTQ+ volunteers of the AlterHéros’ program Ask your question! This program allows youth to ask questions related to sexual orientation, gender identity and sexual health on our website and get an answer from our outreach team. Currently we post the questions in a Facebook group or send them via email to volunteers, but we’d like an easier way to reach everyone at once. We have a peer support approach, so we’d like volunteers to be able to choose subjects they have lived experience about (eg: a trans volunteer could choose to only receive questions about gender and an asexual volunteer could choose to only receive questions about the grey-asexual spectrum).
Skills Needed
Front-end programming; CRM/CMS

Rainbow Faith and Freedom
Project Description
Since we work to end religious-based homo- and trans-phobia, we want to help people find safe, welcoming, inclusive congregations wherever they live in Canada, and whatever their faith. Right now, it's difficult for people to find this kind of information for places outside Canada's bigger cities. So we want to create a web resource that lists places all across Canada, particularly outside the bigger cities, that helps people find a place to worship and a faith community that will accept them AND their sexual and gender orientation and identity.

TransEstrie
Project Description
We are trying to find a way to efficiently handle the inventory of our gender affirming items (binders, packers, gaffs, etc), our book collection and personalized user commands. We buy or receive donations of gender affirming items and give them back under a “pay what you can” system. We have an inventory management program, but despite great efforts, it is still misunderstood by most of the team, and so the gender affirming items stock isn’t kept up to date. We always need a lot of energy to count everything back directly, and retrace transactions lost in the system. Our gender affirming items resource is used to provide trans, non-binary and questioning people with access to items to decrease their dysphoria at no cost. We function under a “pay what you can'' system and finance it with personal donations and rare grants from government or charity organizations. We have been seeking to automate the management of its inventory for a while, at no avail. We mainly seek to improve how we handle this resource. A lot of people ask for gender affirming items, and the inventory changes quickly, so we want to be able to handle these demands in the simplest way possible for us AND them.
